Sometimes we love our work/career, sometimes we aren’t so keen, sometimes there is just a difficult environment to deal with due to deadlines, changes, temporary situations.
Here are some tips to keep your stress, boredom and irritation to a minimum and your positivity and productivity high and your smile in place:
- Whatever your role, even the most mundane task has parts that you like doing. So instead of thinking about each task as a whole, break it down into each individual part that is involved – e.g. if you aren’t a fan of doing reports but you like research, when you have to do a report don’t go “ugh, I hate this”, think “oh great this is an opportunity for research which I love” – so focus on the positive part of what you are doing, particularly during the time you are doing it. So really, consciously enjoy the time on the research, or whatever it is in your case.
